Dairy Buyer

Our client is a large international foods and beverages group
with a number of famous brands. Due to the continuous
development of their activities in the Eastern and
Central Europe they are now looking for an experienced buyer
from milk and/or dairy industry to form part of
a highly engaged and highly performing team of strategic buyers
with a spend of €30M across suppliers.
MISSION
You will be responsible for procuring a range of dairy materials
with aim to develop and implement a strategy for sourcing,
managing price, supply and quality risk.
The role gives opportunities for you to build on your
buying and negotiation skills in a high profile and complex area.
You will be interacting with contacts from internal technicians
to sales executives of the supplier companies using your excellent
communication skills. Some of the duties will include:

Providing continuous supply of quality material to all sites supported
|
|
Developing market expertise and improving the market intelligence of the area, using internal & external networks
|
|
Preparation of the commercial offers
|
|
Providing key insights of research to build & maintain a Dairy Supply & Demand model with application of leading edge buying & price risk management tools
|
|
Establishing a good understanding of supplier costs and manufacture capability, especially for the special powder area
|
|
Delivering a measurable and significant competitive advantage versus market benchmarks
|
|
Making improvements in value or reductions in price through implementing new commercial strategies or new material projects
|
|
Managing supply risks & support business growth
|
|
Implementing quality improvement programs to streamline the inbound pipeline
|
|
Other duties as required
|
REQUIREMENTS
For this assignment you will need some of the following:
|
University Degree in relevant area
|
|
2-3 years experience in purchasing in FMCG sector
|
|
Good knowledge of buying dairy materials and replenishment process
|
|
Good communication ad negotiation skills
|
|
Working knowledge of procurement for a manufacturing business
|
|
Proven record in supply base management
|
|
Problem solving ability using market understanding and economic principles
|
|
Qualification in procurement (CIPS) and SAP experience
|
|
Willing to relocate to the UK and travel within EU for supplier meetings and plant visits
|
|
Fluent English
|
