Global Sourcing Manager – Commercial Operations
Munich, Germany


Our client is a global pharmaceutical company with their world HQ in Munich, Germany. They are the leading provider of high quality, affordable medicines helping secure long-term access to healthcare for people around the world.

MISSION
The ideal candidate will probably come from an FMCG business and be able to demonstrate strong experience of partnering with marketing & sales operations on areas such as sales force effectiveness, Media, Market Research, Print, Promotionals and Warehousing. There is no direct people management responsibility but will have the realistic ability to influence the activities of 50-100 colleagues and stakeholders.

Create, drive and implement a savings and productivity target and objectives setting process consistent with the annual finance planning cycle such that savings objectives are embedded into site and region annual financial plans.

Develop sourcing strategies, maintain overview of service provider market and identify new service providers for Sandoz, drive low cost countries sourcing initiatives.

Lead key Service Provider selection and contracting process in collaboration with relevant functions such as Regional/Country Heads of Commercial Operations and local management.

Challenge demand, process and price for Commercial Operations and trigger efficiency improvement measures.

Manage ongoing Service Provider collaborations (drive resolution of business conflicts and other issues, project status, adherence to budget, periodic provider appraisals, etc).


REQUIREMENTS
For this assignment you will need some of the following:

University degree in the relevant field

Outstanding record (perhaps as a former consultant) in the technical and procedural components of Procurement and Sourcing.

Strategic focus with the ability to analyze, formulate and implement procurement strategies to significantly improve cost efficiency for the global business.

Deep business understanding in the relevant category and ability to quickly establish credibility and build strong relationship with a group of highly demanding internal stakeholders.

Excellent knowledge of the supplier market and market trends are significant advantages.

Highly developed negotiation skills and proven ability to rigorously manage supplier performance at regional and global levels, using sound Supplier Relationship Management techniques.

Outstanding communication, team management and project management skills, able to engage and align a dispersed, cross-functional, cross-cultural virtual team without formal authority.

Fluent English.
